Why Your Sports Bra Matters
Breasts have no muscle of their own. They rely almost entirely on skin and on Cooper’s ligaments — delicate fibrous bands running through the breast tissue.
Research from the University of Portsmouth’s Research Group in Breast Health describes these ligaments behaving much like elastic bands. Stretch them repeatedly through unsupported movement and they don’t spring back. The result is irreversible sagging, known clinically as ptosis.

Encapsulation, Not Just Compression
Here’s the distinction that matters most when you’re choosing.
A compression bra flattens the breasts against the chest wall. It’s the crop-top approach, and for smaller busts and low-impact movement it can be enough.
An encapsulation bra supports each breast individually in its own cup. It controls movement in every direction rather than just front to back — which is precisely what fuller busts need, and what a fast-fashion crop top cannot do.
A well-engineered sports bra also lasts. Fewer replacements, less waste, better support the whole time you own it.

Supporting Eve is an independent lingerie boutique on the second floor of Cluny Court, 501 Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 259760.
Founded by Caroline Warren, the boutique grew out of her own frustration with the limited bra options in Singapore — particularly for small bands with large cups. We fit and stock high-quality bras for every shape, size and stage of life.
We carry band sizes 28–44 and cups A–K, with a free expert fitting service and no measuring tape in sight. Just experienced eyes in a warm, judgement-free space.
